Archives - Honoree Lesson Activities based on Curriculum Standards

We have created a grid that arranges the attributes and accomplishments of the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 honorees in relation to the current curriculum standards. Each of the “X” hyperlinks on the grid indicates an opportunity within the biography of an honoree to make a connection between current academic standards and that honoree, enhancing the experience of the student and infusing the contribution of African Americans into the mainstream of public education.

We hope you will find our suggestions helpful. If you have used other ideas effectively in your classroom, we invite you to share them with us and with our readers.
